Westmont Hospitality Group and Singaporean investor Bestford Capital have bought Brooklands Hotel in the grounds of the famous racing circuit in Weybridge, Surrey.
The 120-bedroom hotel was sold by administrators at BDO off a £20m guide price. The hotel also comprises nine conference rooms, and a restaurant bar and grill. The freehold
hotel, which generates a £7.5m net annual turnover, was brought to market last summer.
The sale of the hotel comes seven years after a fund advised by Jamie Ritblat’s Delancey bought the two-acre hotel development site in 2007 from DaimlerChrysler Retail.
Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers International, which acted for BDO, said: “The hotel’s unique location generated interest from a number of domestic and overseas investors.”
Westmont Hospitality also recently bought the 148-bedroom Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel in Manchester for circa £15m.
Brooklands was the world’s first purpose-built motor racing course when it opened in 1907. It is now home to Mercedes-Benz World, Velocity – a new 100,000 sq ft office development – and several multinational corporate occupiers in the surrounding area.
