Pub chain JD Wetherspoon is pushing into the Republic of Ireland and opened its second pub at the end of the year in Dun Laoghaire south of Dublin.
It has also completed on a further three sites in Swords, Cork and Dublin and is on schedule to open 30 to 40 pubs by the end of the financial year. Ten sites are currently being built and 11 have already been opened.
The chain has also reported a 6.8% increase in sales over the past 12 weeks to 18 January.
