WeWork leases whole of Dublin’s One Central Plaza

WeWork has leased the entirety of the office space at Hines and Peterson Group’s One Central Plaza in Dublin.

The co-working firm has taken just over 70,000 sq ft across eight floors on a 20-year lease. Planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Central Bank building on Dame Street was granted last week. It is due to move in during Q4 2019.

Central Plaza is part of an overall masterplan that includes adjoining properties 6-8 College Green, 9 College Green, and 2 Central Plaza comprising the former Annex and Commercial buildings on Dame Street.

Brian Moran, senior managing director of Hines, said: “With planning permission just granted for this flagship Dublin development, and leasing of the building’s office component now almost fully complete, this is yet another very positive step for this unique project.”

Patrick Nelson, WeWork’s European vice-president for real estate, said, “Expanding our Dublin portfolio with a location like Central Plaza really proves our commitment and dedication to this city. We recently opened our first location, which has been an incredible success, and we have seen interest from a mix of both start-ups and large companies taking space with us.”
