WeWork has leased the whole of Louisa Ryland House, marking its second opening in Birmingham.
The disused office block, which measures 81,280 sq ft, is a Grade II listed building owned by Euro Property Investments.
David Kaiser, head of WeWork UK and Ireland, real estate, said: “Not only is the building located in the heart of the CBD, but it’s also nearby 55 Colmore Row, where we will be opening our first location in Birmingham towards the end of the year. Members from each of the locations will be able to attend events, network and collaborate with other members at both locations.”
WeWork announced its move to Birmingham’s Colmore Row two weeks ago. It also unveiled plans to open a 40,000 sq ft Cambridge office at 50/60 Station Road, which is being developed by Aviva Investors and Brookgate.
The deal stuck by WeWork with Aviva in Cambridge is its fourth revenue-sharing deal in the UK and its first outside London.
