WeWork to buy co-founder’s property stakes with new $2.9bn fund

The parent company of WeWork, one of the world’s largest flexible office providers, is launching an investment fund that will enable it to buy stakes in buildings where it is a tenant.

The We Company has created a fund called Ark which will start with a total of $2.9bn, including $1 billion from Invanhoé Cambridge, the Canadian property investment giant. The fund will look to buy stakes in buildings where Wework is the biggest tenant.

The flexible office provider has become a dominant force in the London property market, with more office space in the capital than any other organisation apart from the government.
