The collapse of Brightons West Pier is an invitation to think about new seaside design, says The Guardian.
The West Pier Trust has been bombarded with suggestions.
The trust is not against a new pier if a consortium comes up with a good design. The newspaper says Brighton should look to Bexhill-on-Sea, home of the De La Warr Pavilion, for a new approach.
