FINANCE: Local Shopping REIT chairman Grahame Whateley has left the company with immediate effect.
Senior independent non-executive director Stephen East has replaced Whateley as chairman.
Nicholas Vetch is now the company’s senior independent director.
A statement said: “Mr Whateley was key to the establishment of the Local Shopping REIT and the board thanks him for his contribution since the company’s flotation in 2007.”
The company is currently being wound down, with investment manager Internos appointed to advise on the sale of the REIT’s once 641-strong portfolio in July last year.
The firm invested in local and convenience properties.
