Harworth Group has completed a 225,000 sq ft letting to postal operator Whistl at its Logistics North development in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

It has also exchanged contracts with Keepmoat to open the first phase of housing at its 560-home Flass Lane development in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

Whistl took 224,938 sq ft at Logistics 225 on a 10-year lease at £6 per sq ft. Logistics 225 and the 175,000 sq ft neighbouring Logistics 175 unit were forward funded by M&G Real Estate.

At Flass Lane, Keepmoat has exchanged contracts with Harworth to buy 9.9 acres of land for 157 homes for £3.7m. The wider development has outline consent for 560 residential plots.

Harworth chief executive Owen Michaelson said: “The deal was completed within six weeks of the unit being practically complete and this, together with the leading regional rental value secured, reflects both the quality of unit we have built on behalf of M&G Real Estate and the quality of Logistics North’s location for logistics and distribution businesses.”
