Jo Moon, acquisitions director at Whitbread, is leaving the business.
Moon is one of six directors across Whitbread’s business functions who will be departing from the firm.
Derek Griffin, head of acquisitions for London, South and East of England, and Kevin Murray, head of acquisitions for the North, will now oversee acquisitions in the UK and Ireland.
Mark Anderson will continue to run the property team at Whitbread.
A spokesperson for the business said Whitbread has been streamlining roles “as part of managing the cost base and equipping the business for changes in the overall marketplace”.
The news comes as Whitbread considers the sale of up to £870m of Premier Inn hotels, on the back of pressure from activist investor Elliott Advisors to create additional value.
Elliott, the notoriously aggressive hedge fund led by billionaire Paul Singer, had already strong-armed the company into selling its Costa Coffee arm to Coca-Cola for £3.9bn last month.
