Whitbread buys Pelican restaurant chains for £133.1m
Whitbread has bought Pelican, the restaurateur which owns the Cafe Rouge and Dome chains, for £133.1m. Pelican shares have risen tenfold over the past five years and have doubled in the past 12 months. Whitbread wants to open 40 Cafe Rouges and Domes each year.
