Whitbread is selling 187 pubs in an auction which could raise more than £100m.
The package comprises 146 managed houses, 41 tenancies and a head office in Washington, County Durham, all previously owned by Swallow. Most of the estate is in the north-east and Yorkshire.
Possible buyers include Enterprise Inns, InnSpired Group, Pubmaster, SFI, Unique Pub Company and Royal Bank of Scotland.
