Luxury lifestyle retailer the White Company is to expand and relocate its Midlands logistics operation to the Black Swan distribution centre in Northampton, East Midlands.
The White Company has taken the 191,000 sq ft building located on an 8.2-acre site on Cob Drive, on a 20-year lease with a break at year 10, at a rent of £5.50 per sq ft.
It will relocate its existing operation from Brackmills Industrial Estate to the larger warehousing and distribution centre at Aviva Investors’ Swan Valley distribution park as part of its continuing business expansion.
Founded in 1994, the company is one of the UK’s fastest growing multi-channel retailers online and with more than 50 retail stores.
Chief financial officer Phil Clarke said: “Officially opening later this year, the White Company has made a decision to relocate its existing premises within a five-mile radius of its current location in order to protect the current distribution and contact centre teams and to demonstrate a real commitment to invest in our people in Northampton.”
Other tenants at Swan Valley include Carlsberg, Levi’s, Morrisons, Royal Mail, Sainsbury’s and BMW.
CBRE, JLL and North Rae Sanders are letting agents; Knight Frank acted for the White Company.
