A Wickes retail warehouse in Braintree, Essex, received bids up to £6.55m, but still failed to meet its reserve at Barnard Marcus’ 11 November auction.
The 31,840 sq ft building on a 2.1 acre site has an annual income of £302,500, but is due a rent review in June 2020. It was the highest priced lot in the sale, which raised £13.8m.
Barnard Marcus sold a total of 112 of the 199 lots offered, equating to a success rate of 57%. The final Barnard Marcus sale of 2019 will take place on 16 December at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, WC2.
