Preston Barracks in Brighton is to be redeveloped by a consortium led by Wilson Bowden, which beat Ken Dytor’s Urban Catalyst to win preferred developer status.
Wilson Bowden, Hyde & Chichester Diocesan Housing Association have been recommended by council officers and the South East England Development Agency to redevelop the former barracks as 412 homes (of which 40% will be affordable) and 215,000 sq ft (19,973.5 sq m) of office space.
The council will make a final decision next week.
