Wilson Bowden gets consent for Chesterfield FC stadium scheme

 

Wilson Bowden has been given outline permission for a mixed-use development  including a new football stadium in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

 

The plans for the former Dema Glass site in Chesterfield include a new 10,500 seat stadium for Chesterfield Football Club, with conference and banqueting facilities, a new Tesco store, a petrol filling station and 269,100 sq ft comprising offices, a hotel, restaurant, and shops.

 

The exact details of the scheme will be decided for the full planning application.

The planning application had been referred to secretary of state Hazel Blears, who approved the plans as being in line with national and regional plans.

 

Planning consultancy DDP advised Wilson Bowden over planning.
