Wilson Bowden reveals latest Atlantic Quay phase

Capella, Atlantic Quay

Developer Wilson Bowden has revealed plans for the latest £26m phase of its Atlantic Quay scheme in Glasgow, which will be known as Capella.

The 11-storey building, currently known as 5 Atlantic Quay, contains 108,000 sq ft of offices alongside 3,000 sq ft of ground floor retail and leisure.

It will be the tallest building in the Broomielaw area and completes the development of land between Roberstson Street and York Street.

Jim Fitzsimons, development director at Wilson Bowden, said: “The announcement of this latest phase of the project reinforces our commitment to Glasgow and demonstrates our confidence in the city’s long-term future as a business powerhouse.

“In my view, the medium to long-term prospects for the city are very positive and I’m confident that this will be reflected in demand when the project completes in 2009.”

Construction will begin shortly, with completion due in August 2009.

CB Richard Ellis and Jones Lang LaSalle are office agents on the scheme, with Hamilton Glen letting the retail space.
