Helen Randerson, a land director at Gleeson Homes, has been appointed chair for Yorkshire and the North East by Women In Property, a national, multi-disciplinary organisation which promotes gender diversity and inclusion in the industry.
Her appointment takes effect this month and runs for a year.
Randerson (pictured), who specialises in land acquisition and planning in the North of England, has been a member of Women in Property since 2015.
She said: “In my role as chair, I want to continue to promote gender equality in the property sector, and to inspire the next generation of female leaders in our industry by creating opportunities and space for women to thrive.
“I believe that diversity and inclusion is key to driving innovation and success and together we can break down barriers and build a more equitable and inclusive future for all.”
This year’s calendar of events includes opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and professional development.
Mark Knight, chief executive of Gleeson Homes, added: “I would like to congratulate Helen on behalf of everyone at Gleeson Homes, she has considerable sector experience and is passionate about increasing diversity within housebuilding. Helen represents a great example to young women aspiring for careers in the sector, and her work with Women In Property will undoubtedly help to inspire the next generation of female industry leaders.”
