Woodland Group expands at iPort

Verdion has prelet a second warehouse at iPort near Doncaster to Woodland Group on a 10-year lease.

iPort is a multimodal logistics hub, with capacity for a total of 6m sq ft of 24/7 of logistics and light industrial space close to junction 3 of the M18 and the East Coast Main Line.

The 130,458 sq ft distribution facility, known as iP1b, is one of the new speculative buildings to be completed and operational later this week. It is the second warehouse to be occupied by Woodland at iPort after the logistics firm took 195,000 sq ft in February last year.

The move comes amid continued expansion of Woodland across Yorkshire as part of a strategy to service the growing needs of its existing and new business.

Luke Fermor, global head of fulfilment at Woodland, said: “This new dedicated e-commerce facility gives us the ability to store over 15,000 pallets and 12,000 pick locations all being managed by our in-house built WMS. This facility will further drive our aim to deliver sustainable supply chains, and we have extensive plans in place to make it our flagship for sustainable development.”

CBRE advised Verdion. Knight Frank acted for Woodland Group. Gent Visick, CBRE and Colliers are the retained leasing agents for iPort.
