Woon takes Pears investment post

Pears Group has hired Hoong Wey Woon as its investment director for property.

Woon will report directly to Jonathan Rose, Pears managing director. He will be responsible for further expanding the group’s holdings in the UK across all asset classes.

Pears has more than £200m of property under offer and is looking for new acquisition opportunities.

Hoong joins from Aviva Investors where he spent more than six years as a director and fund manager. Previously, he worked as an associate director for Grosvenor. He has also worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Deustche Bank where he provided mergers and acquisitions, project finance and research advice.

Rose said: “He brings a wealth of experience from the property as well as investment banking sectors. Hoong will help the expansion of our investments in the UK, which we believe has continued good property fundamentals in certain sectors.”
