Work has started on a new £40m BOC Gases’ air separation plant at Teeside. It will be the largest of its kind. It is due to become operative next year. It will produce 1,750 tonnes a day of oxygen and 3,200 tonnes of nitrogen and argon.
British Steel’s nearby works will be the main customer.
