Nigel Wray and Irving Scholar have won control of Nottingham Forest. Shareholders accepted a £19m bid from their consortium after rival Albert Scardino unexpectedly withdrew.

Shares in Carlisle Group, in which Wray has 13.44%, jumped 1.5p to 14p last night on speculation that it would be used as the takeover vehicle.
