Engineering and professional services firm WSP has prelet 47,000 sq ft of refurbished office space at the Mailbox in Birmingham.
The space will be WSP’s new West Midlands’ regional headquarters and the firm has an option to increase the letting up to 55,000 sq ft.
In Birmingham, WSP has been involved in some of the most significant redevelopments in the city, including 212 Broad Street, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Snowhill 3, Grand Central, and the Bullring.
The Mailbox is the UK’s largest mixed-use asset outside London. Tenants include the BBC, Advanced, Associated Architects, Harvey Nichols and other retailers.
Matthew Wherry, head of corporate real estate at WSP, said: “The Mailbox’s central location, local amenities and canalside setting all serve to enhance our ability to recruit and retain the best people.”
Fraser Brown and Knight Frank acted for WSP, CBRE and Savills were joint leasing agents for the Mailbox.
