Yoo, the upmarket apartment company, has spun off a new company, Yoo Too.
Yoo was set up last year by developer John Hitchcox and designer Philippe Starck to find and develop prime sites in international locations. The new company will develop less prominent sites not considered high-profile enough for Yoo.
Hitchcox is joined at Yoo Too by designer Tara Bernerd, his new wife and the daughter of Chelsfields Elliott Bernerd.
She said: “There were interesting buildings passing through, in secondary areas, that didnt work for Yoo. We didnt want to let them go.”
Yoo Toos first project is the conversion of a former school in Brighton, at 8 Finsbury Road in the Hanover area. The 23 flats will be sold for between £150,000 and £320,000. Yoo Too is consultant to the sites owner, local developer Chris Cresswell, who owns Brighton Loft Co.
Yoo has launched its first project this week, on Hall Road in Maida Vale, NW8, to be developed with Godfrey Bradman associate Jack Jacobs.
