Clarion Housing Group has secured planning consent to build 302 homes on land next to the former Rowntree factory in York.
The city council has approved proposals from Clarion’s development arm, Latimer, for the 11-acre plot.
The Cocoa West scheme has been designed by JTP Architects and will include 110 affordable homes as shared ownership and social rent. It neighbours the 279-home Cocoa Works scheme which is currently under construction.
Work on site will begin in early 2022, with the first residents expected to move in during summer 2023.
