Yorkshire’s first gin bar is to open at Wykeland Beal’s Fruit Market, an £80m mixed-use regeneration project in Hull.
Humber Street Distillery Co has signed to take a 1,800 sq ft space which will house a 150-litre gin still and bar.
Dubbed Hull’s “first urban village”, the Fruit Market comprises commercial, retail and leisure space alongside 101 mews-style homes around private courtyards. Construction of the residential element is due to start by the summer.
Humber Street Distillery co-owner Lee Kirman said: “We have taken inspiration from bars in cities such as London and Edinburgh, but wanted to take it a step further by distilling our own gin on the premises.”
Wykeland Beal and Humber Street Distillery were both unrepresented.
