Yorkshire Post plans approved

Yorkshire-Post-CGI-570p

A plan to redevelop the former Yorkshire Post headquarters in Leeds into a 540,000 sq ft office project has been approved by the local council.

The project will include 200 homes, as well as retail and leisure space.

The site was formerly home to the world’s first wool mill, before becoming home to the iconic 200,000 sq ft Yorkshire Post “Bunker” in 1970.

Those buildings were demolished in 2014 after staff were moved to Whitehall Road.
Fox Lloyd Jones and DTZ are letting agents.

Estates Gazette revealed in December 2013 that the block had been sold to local businessman David Newett, who heads Stirling Investments.

The firm also agreed this week to sell its £84m portfolio of industrial property to Clearbell Capital, in order to fund Newett’s development activity.
