Fashion chain Zara has consolidated its two stores at the Scottish Retail Property Limited Partnership’s 1.2m sq ft East Kilbride shopping centre.
The retailer will reconfigure the format of its main 10,989 sq ft Zara store to accommodate a revised menswear offer. The move will see it surrender is 4,746 sq ft second store on 25 January.
The consolidation is in line with Zara’s policy of grouping two or three sections into a single store.
Mike Shearwood, UK managing director at Zara-owner Inditex, said: “As our only remaining standalone Zara menswear store, the East Kilbride deal marks the completion of our move to focus on our successful combined stores”
The Scottish Retail Property Limited Partnership is a 50/50 joint venture between Land Securities and British Land.
It was launched in March 2004 and brings together more than 1.8m sq ft of combined Scottish-based retail property assets worth more than £700m.
