The massive redevelopment of Battersea Power Station is to get a 48,800 sq ft Zara store as part of its upcoming retail offering.
The new outlet will be on Electric Boulevard, SW8, mooted as the development’s new high street. It will be Zara’s first central London store south of the River Thames.
Electric Boulevard will run from the south of the power station, between architect Frank Gehry’s Prospect Place and Foster + Partners’ Battersea Roof Gardens. It will have a mix of bars and restaurants, office space, shops, a park, a community hub and a new 164-bedroom hotel.
Developers at the Battersea Power Station Development Company hope to make it a destination to rival the West End. Sam Cotton, BPSDC’s head of leasing, said the Power Station development will be “the new go-to place for shopping in London”.
