Zurich, one of the world’s biggest insurers, has been accused of fraudulently signing off dangerous flats as safe without proper inspections.
The £46bn company issued ten-year warranties for 400,000 new homes in Britain between 1993 and 2009.
In two High Court claims involving up to £32m, owners of flats with serious fire risks in Bradford and Swansea allege that Zurich fraudulently issued new-build warranty “cover notes” without proper inspections.
Zurich denies the two claims.
