The South East benefits from its proximity to London, although some may argue that it is also its Achilles heel.

It is economically diverse, home to port activity, tech, telecoms and science, as well as established financial and professional services sectors.

While the uncertainty of the EU referendum seems to have affected the region’s property market a little more than the rest of the country, GVA is projected to increase by 15.9% between 2016 and 2025, according to Cebr/Irwin Mitchell.

Wales is part of the United Kingdom but has powers devolved from the UK’s central government. The nation’s government is based in the Welsh Assembly in the capital, Cardiff. Most of the economic activity takes place in the south around Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, but the north has important clusters such as nuclear and power centred around Angelsey.
